Undergoing Major Changes!

2:31 pm in Membership Info by Deb Augur

Hello and thanks for visiting.

Possibility Web is temporarily closed while the site is revamped and reconfigured with a more user friendly plan.

If you received an email with the subject line, “Let’s Get Started,” please ignore it. It seems when the WishList Member plugin was updated, it triggered the original email from way back in the beginning. My apologies that it went out. I had no way of knowing that would happen.  No warning Read the rest of this entry →

Conversion 1: The Landing Page

10:15 am in Conversion by Deb Augur

A "Landing Page" is the page that a visitor lands on after clicking an ad or after being redirected, such as after opting in. This is usually intended to present an offer of some kind, such as a sales page for a product or service.

A "Squeeze Page" is a short, highly defined landing page generally designed to capture information such as an email address. (We'll cover this in a separate article.)

A "Home Page" is the "front" page of your website or blog.  This is not necessarily where you want your visitors to land because there are far more choices (decisions to make) and visitors might "bounce" (leave without going elsewhere) and get lost on your site.

The most effective way to increase your conversions is to drive traffic to either a squeeze or landing page instead of your home page.

Let's discuss the landing page in more detail... If you're using PPC or some other form of advertising to get visitors to come to your site and buy from you, a landing page offers you a much better chance to land the sale.  Here are some tips: Read the rest of this entry →

Conversion 2: Influence

9:52 am in Conversion by Deb Augur

The art of influencing people is effective for many things beyond selling something.  Influence can help you build a list, warm a list, attract JV partners or employees, encourage charitable giving or volunteering, increase traffic to your blog... and on and on.

So how do you effectively influence your target market? That's what we're going to talk about here.

Let's use a blog as an example first because I need you to understand that building influence comes down to sequencing.  It's not something you can do with a one-time shot.  It's about conversation and connection. And that should be the main goal of your blog (if you don't have a blog, get one).

With your blog you can communicate your ideas and expertise.  You can attract a following and build your list.  Most importantly, with readers' comments you get much needed feedback.

With feedback you can latch on to your readers' hot buttons, wants, needs, desires, wishes, tendencies... as well as their objections and reservations. You get to know them well. That's the point. Read the rest of this entry →

Conversion 3: What Makes People Buy

3:11 pm in Conversion by Deb Augur

There are only a few reasons why people buy online or off but we're going to talk about the online aspect...

The obvious one is price. We buy books online through Amazon or Overstock because they are cheaper than our local stores. With the type of sales volume these sites have, they can afford to compete on price.

But we don’t want to get in a lowball war… so how can we win?

There are two big motivators that will help encourage people to buy without paying much attention to price.

People won't pay attention to the price tag if you:

  1. entertain them
  2. solve their problem

Let’s look at each and see how we can make them work to our advantage. Read the rest of this entry →

List Building 1: Introduction

12:40 pm in List Building by Deb Augur

It’s about Quality, not Quantity

The hype online is often pretty hard to swallow and the timed onslaught of mega launches is nerve racking to say the least.  It's really hard to know what to invest in.

With all of the Internet Marketing, Product Launch and Affiliate Blueprint courses that are continually being put out there for us... how many of these start from the beginning?  Where most people are.

For instance, how many chances have you had where someone said something like, "here's how to get started building your list?"  How many are willing to hold your hand and really get down to the nitty gritty and help you get started?

In this section called "List Building" I'm going to do just that.  You see, ,there's a lot of ways to build a list, but the money isn't in the list... the money is in your relationship with your list and that means it's the Quality NOT Quantity!

Here's yet another place where the infamous 80/20 rule applies.  20% of the "average large list" are quality leads.  80% are not.  80% of the people on those built-super-fast lists will probably never click on a link, let alone buy anything.  It's true. Read the rest of this entry →

List Building 2: First Things First

11:47 am in List Building by Deb Augur

Before we go further, let's discuss the whole process of list building.  There are things you need to even begin...

  1. Domain name and hosting.  I use www.BetterWebBusiness.com for all of mine.
  2. A landing page for an opt in form and a thank you page.
  3. The Opt In form and autoresponders. You can generate an opt in from and set up autoresponders from a email communication service such as 1ShoppingCart (1SC), which is what I use. Aweber is another choice but I can't really help you with that one since I haven't used it in many years.  There's also InfusionSoft but it's an expensive way to go at this point.
  4. Traffic
